Gordon Trained at WEMTC ( West of England Ministerial Training Course) 1990 –92 previously called Gloucester School for Ministry.
He was Licensed at St John’s Parish Church, Cirencester November 1992 to serve at St George’s Church, Brockworth.
Gordon is a Member of St George’s Parochial Church Council since 1976. Now ex-officio in capacity as Reader as agreed at Annual Parochial Church Meeting, and of the St Georges Bell ringing team since 1980
Gordon has also been a Churchwarden at St George’s Church between 1976 – 1996 which included interviewing Fr Peter Naylor as new Parish Priest in June 1976 .He was a Member of both Selection Committees that were involved with the appointment of two new Parish Priests ( Fr Martin Ennis) when Fr Peter Naylor moved in 1994, and ( Fr David Gill) when Fr Martin Ennis moved in 2004
Gordon's main Duties include preaching about once a month and leading non-Eucharistic services. Leading Intercessions on rota with other members and regular lesson/Gospel readings. He also officiates at a number of funerals.
He was enrolled as a member of St George's branch of the Mother's Union in November 2007.
Gordon has attended Saturday workshops, residential weekends and other Readers events.
Following on from a weekend which was held at Prinknash Abbey and called a Cusillo. Louisa came home ready to do all she could to love and serve the Lord. Louisa enrolled in a course called Frame Work For Faith which lasted three years and which she enjoyed very much.
Our then curate Bill Boon who was also a dear friend of Louisa's suggested that she should look into the Lay Readership telling her "it was just up my street"!! Louisa did look into Lay Readership and was accepted for training. After three years Louisa was licensed at Gloucester Cathedral on 23rd September 1995 to St. Katherine’s Matson, After two years Louisa had her license transferred to St. Georges Brockworth.
